Introduce the food gradually from around 3 weeks of age, over a period of 3-5 days. The food should be mixed with hot (37°C) water and stirred until a gruel is formed. Once weaned, the food can be fed dry or moistened with water or gravy to the consistency that your dog prefers. It is recommended to feed young dogs at least 3 times a day from up to 12-16 weeks of age and twice per day thereafter. Care should be taken to ensure that all puppies in the litter get an equal share. Feed sufficient to maintain a steady growth, allowing weight gain to match skeletal development whilst maintaining condition. The amounts provided are a guide, every dog and litter are slightly different. Always ensure that clean fresh drinking water is available at all times.
